Canning time...

It's been about 5 years since I have canned anything. This is mostly because the last time I canned I was doing pears and I dropped a jar back into the waterbath which then broke the jar and water came exploding out and gave me second degree burns all over my right hand and wrist. I had quickly ran my hand under the cold running water and watched the skin run down the drain. It wasn't pleasant at all and if you've ever had a really bad burn you know it's not nice.

Some Relief Society Sisters arranged for us to get pears from the Church Pear Orchards down in Medford at a great price. Since I love home canned fruits and veggies, I decided it was time to get over my fear. I decided if my Mom assisted me all would be well. Of course it was and my Mom has a way of cutting fruit perfectly so not only does it taste delicious, it looks gorgeous too! Thanks Mom.

Here are my pears~I canned about 36 quarts. I also did about 8 quarts of peaches and need to finish those up.
