I love blogs! I read them every morning...it's part of my routine. Some people read the paper in the mornings...I read my blogs. So I am hoping to get back to blogging on a regular basis.
We have had a busy summer.
We moved back to our first home in May. We are finally settling in, hanging pictures back up on the wall and unpacking the last of the boxes. It's been a process!!! It's been great to have the love and support of our family and friends through this process.
At the end of July we went down to California where almost all of Doug's family lives. Bob and EmmaLee are still in Boston for one more year so we missed seeing them. But we were able to spend time with and see everyone else. I will do a separate post with pics about that.
Most of our summer days have been filled with slip n slide time, homemade snow cones, swimming lessons, popsicles, skyping with pen pals, piano and cello lessons, horse camp, invention camp, our local library summer reading program, walking around the Saturday market, picking blackberries in the back field, sitting in the hammock under the tree's, eating ice cream, watching meteor showers and above all enjoying each other's company. Simple summer pleasures that are coming to an end.
Doug is in charge of power camp which is for incoming 6th graders. That starts tomorrow and it's hard to believe he is going back so soon. I wish we had more time for him to be off. I love having him home with me during the summer. He is my summer assistant and I will miss him!!! Speaking of Doug we just celebrated his 37th birthday yesterday. He has caught up to me for a couple of months. :) Unfortunately I have been battling a tummy bug all week and on Wednesday I knew I was getting a sinus/head cold. So he took the kids yesterday to see "How to train your dragon". It was at our $3.00 movie theatre "Northern Lights" and they wanted to see it before it leaves for good. They loved it. We had some yummy strawberry cake from Konditorei and Doug opened his presents.
Ok, so now it's time to post some photos and video clips. Here's to being a better blogger. ;)
