Rocks, Gems and Crystals...Oh My!

Back on April 18th, the day before the walk I had a chance to go on one of Marlee's classroom field trips. It was being held at the Polk County Fair Grounds out in the little tiny town of Rickreal, OR. I have heard from older kids that they thought it was a bit boring. However, I would tend to disagree after attending it. There were so many different and amazing things to look at. Maybe my family and I have more of a love for these things since Doug is a Science Teacher. But, I was amazed at some of the things I saw. So many brilliant colors, so many different rocks, gem stones, crystals-in so many different textures and formations.

Marlee's class and teacher Sr. Penhollow along with Srta. Kulog and her class put together their own display of rocks. I snapped a cute picture of Hannah, Marlee and Alice standing in front of it. They have been friends since they were three years old and they were all in my Daycare up until this past September.

The girls had to start off with fresh, hot popcorn.Brazilian slices
So many different things to look at.
I love this.
Marlee's Grammie would go for this purple.
These were so beautiful~loved all the green colors.
Marlee didn't care if she looked at anything until she panned for GOLD!
The volunteer was so nice and really taught her how to do it. Here she is with her GOLD.
Geodes
The 3 Musketeer's (they have been friends since they were 3 yrs old)
Alice, Hannah & Marlee all worked on their classroom project shown here.
We bought one of each of these.
