My parent's watched Marlee and Ian Friday and Saturday night so that we could go have a weekend away together. We had a lot of fun. We stayed at the Paramount Hotel in Downtown Portland. It's part of the Trendwest Timeshare.
We walked around downtown holding hands and stopping to smooch. Not to much PDA but a little. :) We didn't have anything on our agenda-just spending time together and remembering the early years.
They were demolishing a building in front of our hotel which was really fun to watch. We were on the 14th floor and we both thought it was funny that we were actually on the 13th floor but as the buttons show there was no "13th floor".
We rode the MAX which I have never ridden before and that was fun. We rode it from Pioneer courthouse & square over across the river to the Lloyd Center. We didn't spend much time there-I don't like that mall-it's dirty and just yuck! So we quickly got back on the MAX and went back to the downtown area.
It was fun to sleep above Nordstrom's-it used to be my favorite place to shop. Of course now as many of you can relate with family, homes, vehicles etc I am now a Target lover. :)
On our way up to Portland Friday night we stopped at Bridgeport Plaza-a great little shopping village. We ate at the Macaroni grill and Doug and I hopped over to the Z Gallery. What was so ironic about this is that I love this store and want to show Doug a painting of palm trees and the ocean that I thought would look great in our bedroom since its a tropical themed room. Well, as we walked in Laura Jaussi was walking out with her sister in-law and nephew and niece. Many of you are aware that if it wasn't for Laura Doug and I would probably have never met. He was her home teacher and they were buddies. So after my mission when she wanted me to move out to Utah with her she knew then that she thought we would make a great couple. Well, 11 years later-we must say THANK YOU LAURA. Now, if only we could find the right guy for her. Oh, by the way~we bought the painting~our anniversary gift to each other and hey it was only $109.00 plus it was already framed. Pretty good deal if you ask me.
We had lunch at a great little deli across the way from our Hotel-and to finish off lunch we had a chocolate cupcake with Buttercream icing-mmmm-my favorite.
Since Sunday was mothers day we headed home in time for Church and we walked into the chapel and got ton's of hugs and kisses from Marlee and Ian. It was great to go and as always great to come home again.
