The Rickreal Dairy ~ La Lecharia

GOT MILK?

Today I was able to go with Ian and his Kindergarten class to the Rickreal Dairy. This is a new field trip that Kathy is taking her kinders too. I wasn't sure what it would be like. Ian had been telling me all week that we couldn't get sick, we had to be on time and we had to wear boots. It was pretty cute that he was constantly going thru his little checklist in his head.

So he rode the bus there and I drove with my friend Jenn. Of course we beat the bus there but we were able to chat with Stacy who is Louie's daughter and Louie is the owner of the dairy. She was telling us about their transition to a Menthaline Digester. It will power the whole dairy and have extra to sell to a power company. In transitioning to this there will be a bubble placed over the pond and so it will smell a whole let better. YEAH!!!

Ian was able to pet and feed a baby cow, watch and learn how they milk the cows and roll down the mountain of cotton seed. He had a good time and it was fun to learn so many things about the dairy. All of the adults had a ton of questions and I definitely learned a lot.
