Happy Birthday to my wonderful Hubby. I am so lucky to be married to my most bestest friend ever in the whole world (how's that for good english!?!) Doug is an amazing man ~ we celebrated our 10th Wedding Anniversary this past May ~ time seems to continue to fly by. It feels like just yesterday when my roomie Laura introduced me to Doug. From that day on my life changed for the better, forever! Doug brings so much fun and happiness to our little family. So it was fun to have this day to celebrate him.
Today Doug turned 34! (He's caught up to me for a whole 3 months) We celebrated by going to dinner with my parent's (it's my old family tradition). Doug chose "The Roadhouse" which is a great steakhouse here in Salem. Yes, in case any of you are wondering whats around his neck it's a toilet seat cover and a coffee filter on top of his head. They dress you up with that when they bring the dessert and sing Happy Birthday. All in good fun and we had a good laugh.
Last night was the big celebration though, with all of my siblings and their families here at our house for ice cream cake. My brother Sean turns 40 on the 18th along with my Father in-law Bruce (although they are in California)-so we celebrated both Doug and Sean's. We also celebrated Miss Monique's birthday - she will be eleven ( I can't believe that). We had a great time and Monique received water balloons as one of her gifts so of course my crazy brother Sean helped the kids try em out. Needless to say after an hour of water balloons being tossed around the adults were soon being drenched by Sean as well. He thru a pitcher of water down my back ~ ya...NICE!!! Gotta love him though. :) He makes everything more memorable.
Doug received phone calls from all 5 of his siblings which really touched him. Four out of the six Bowling siblings live in California so we only see them about once a year. Doug & I always feel like we are outta touch with them all so it was a special treat for him to come home tonight after dinner to hear all their messages and speak to most of them. Thanks everyone for remembering him.
On a side note regarding Mom & Dad B. ~ they are in Hawaii on the big Island. Well, to make a long story short, we have been watching the news closely as a level 4 Hurricane was headed right for the big Island. It's now been downgraded to a level 2 but we heard that early this morning (middle of the night) there was a 5.3 earthquake that hit near Hilo. No real damage just kind of crazy that's all. We certainly hope they are able to get some enjoyment out of this trip. They work so hard and do so much for the church, for their family and friends. They really are two of the neatest people I have ever met and I am truly blessed to have them as my "In-Laws". So here's to hoping the weather clears up and they can get some scuba diving in before they come home.
Last but not least ~ Doug and I still can't seem to get our pictures transferred off of our camera onto our laptop. This is such an easy task but trust me when I say we have tried everything. Our laptop has been acting up for quite some time now and I am about ready to throw it thru the window. So since I can't seem to retrieve a few of my 2500+ photos to show of Marlee and Ian I will end with posting a picture from my cell phone of them taken tonight at Doug's Birthday Dinner. They love celebrating birthday's so they had a good time tonight with Daddy. Families are the best!!!

I can't believe how big your kids are. I don't think I have ever seen Ian--he looks like a sweetheart. Tell Doug Happy Birthday from me !
